Chapter 145
And worse? Stephanie didn’t just argue-she threw hands.
But the moment Catlin remembered Stephanie might've been treated like dirt over there, that old motherly guilt
started creeping in.
Then, of course, Stephanie would do something to piss her off all over again, and Catlin would regret ever
bringing her
back.
“Mom,” Olivia said softly, “if you want to spend more twith her, it’s okay. | really don’t mind.”
Catlin sighed. “You're too good to me.”
Truth was, her heart ached for both girls.
She'd been avoiding Stephanie these past few days, she just needed space to think.
Chad was right. Stephanie wasn’t raised in this house, so acting like sperfect daughter wasn't in her
programming.
Maybe, once Olivia got better, they could actually figure out how to deal with her.
Before Catlin could say anything else, Olivia suddenly gasped, then cried out in pain. Her whole body curled up
tight, hands clutching her stomach.
Catlin panicked. “Olivia! What's wrong? Baby, talk to me!”
“It hurts... It hurts so bad.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Doctor, doctor!”
The room exploded into chaos-nurses rushing in, doctors right behind them.
Catlin stood frozen in the hallway, heart slamming against her ribs. Every cry from inside that room felt like
someone was wringing her heart out with their bare hands.
An hour later-
The specialists who’d been handling Olivia's case pulled Catlin aside. “If you want to save her uterus, we need
Dr. Pierce back immediately.”
Catlin’s stomach dropped so hard she felt dizzy.
Olivia's uterus. Which meant her future with Chris.
The Ashfords barely tolerated Olivia as it was. If she couldn't have kids, no matter how much Chris loved her
now, that love might not hold up.
Catlin’s voice shook. “We'll do whatever it takes. Just save her.”
“Then we need to get Dr. Pierce back as soon as possible.”
The doctors exchanged a glance. “We also need Dr. Vitale on board.”
Catlin’s heart squeezed even tighter.
Macro and Allison.

Chapter 145
That brought them right back to the sbrick wall-Stephanie.
For days, they'd tried everything-money, favors, pulling strings-but no matter what they offered, the answer
never changed.
It all still cdown to Stephanie.
Meanwhile, at Stephanie's place—
Ella showed up around lunchtime, claiming she wanted to grab food, but the second she walked in, Stephanie
could tell- this girl cfor gossip.
Especially with how the Ashfords were reacting to Olivia's condition-and all the things the Harts and Chris were
scrambling to do for her.
“That girl really is the manipulative angel.”
“Yeah, one that headed to heaven soon.” Stephanie snorted.
Dr. Pierce ran Olivia's tests himself, so yeah-Olivia wasn’t faking this time.
Stephanie had been convinced it was all an act.
“Still,” Ella shrugged, “can’t say she didn’t earn this one.”
“Karma,” Stephanie said, all smiles. “Anyway, what are we eating?”
“Mexican?”
“Nope. Not happening,” Stephanie shut it down without thinking.
If she dared sneak out for spicy food, Sebastian would 100% blow up her phone.
Besides, he already promised the chef would make her whatever she wanted.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe second Ella walked in, Stephanie had texted him, casually mentioning they were grabbing dinner together.
His reply cfast: [No spicy food. No exceptions.]
Even through the screen, his tone was ironclad.
Ella whistled. “Damn, your brother's intense. Full-on sister complex, huh?”
“You think he’s bad?” Stephanie raised a brow.
“There's more?”
“My sister's even worse.”
Ella's eyes widened. “Hold up, you've got a sister too?”
Stephanie nodded. “Yep. Sofia.”
And truth be told... she missed her like crazy.
