With that, Hailey turned to Owen and asked, “Do you have any food ingredients here?”

Owen replied, “No, how about 1 accompany you to the supermarket?”

Christopher pursed his lips, glanced at Owen, and decided not to mention that the maid had bought some

ingredients yesterday.

“Alright,” Hailey said, looking at Christopher. “Then I'll go to the supermarket with Owen first. What kind of

dishes would you like?”

Christopher said, “I'm not picky; anything is fine.”

Hailey’s eyebrows and eyes curved into a smile. “Not being picky is a sign of a good kid.”

Christopher was silent for a few seconds, always feeling that this statement was a bit strange.

After they finished shopping, Owen was about to check out when he saw something through the small mirror

above the

cashier.

He handed his wallet to Hailey with a gentle expression. “Hailey, you go check out. If it’s too heavy to carry, just

put it on the floor, | need to use the restroom on the second floor.”

Hailey nodded.

Owen then left the cashier and went directly to the second floor.

At the corner of the second-floor stairs, a man wearing a black mask sensed that something was wrong and tried

to run.

Owen acted quickly, rushed forward, and kicked him.

Since there were very few people in the supermarket and no one was around on the second floor to get alarmed

or stop him, the man was kicked to the floor.
