Chapter 337 Reflection on the Journey

Three days later, Frey boarded Nathaniel's private plane, accompanied by Peyton.

Frey had visited Stanna numerous times before, so securing a visa was straightforward. For Peyton, Nathaniel

had asked Koen to handle the arrangements. The visa issues for Peyton were minor compared to their concerns.

Before boarding the plane, Frey took sleep aids and other antipsychotic medications prescribed by Ozzy. She fell

asleep almost immediately after settling in. Peyton, though on her first international trip, was too worried about

Frey's condition to feel any excitement about the journey.

She attempted to check on Frey multiple times but was always kept at a distance as Nathaniel tended to her.

Frey and Nathaniel occupied a separate cabin, making it difficult for Peyton to enter. Koen, noticing her anxiety,

offered her sfruit wine.

"Don't worry," Koen said with a low chuckle, "Even the Grim Reaper wouldn't be able to take away the people Mr.

Nathaniel wants to save."

Peyton drank the fruit wine in one gulp, then reached for a tissue Koen offered. Though she was anxious, she

couldn't help but appreciate the considerate gesture.

As Frey's friend, Peyton felt somewhat out of place, given the high status of Nathaniel's associates. She felt a mix

of emotions, unsure if she was overthinking Koen's kindness. Compared to everyone else, she felt insignificant.

"Thank you, Mr. Koen," Peyton said with a smile, placing the empty glass on the shelf.

Koen was accustomed to seeing Peyton's more assertive side, or her resolute and strong demeanor. It was

unusual to see her so subdued and appreciative.

Koen laughed softly, "We're all friends, so there's no need for such formality."

Peyton didn't have a response and simply smiled in silence.

"Where are you from, Ms. Peyton?"

en

"From a city in the northwest," Peyton said, feeling the need to share more about her background She wasn't as

glamorous as she might have seemed and was far from being a high-society figure.

She continued, "My father was a coal miner. There was a gas explosion in the mine one year, and my mother left

with another man using his pension. Later, she died by jumping into a river. My grandfather had already passed

away, so was raised by my grandmother. When | was in my second year of high school, my grandmother fell ill

with cancer.”

Peyton paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. "I had to drop out of school to support us. | started

working in nightclubs." The mention of nightclubs made Koen fall silent.

Peyton sneered slightly before continuing, "At that time, I felt like | was worth nothing. | did anything for money."

"Honestly, was so desperate that | would have sold myself by the pound if it meant raising money for my

grandmother's treatment. My only thought was to make money, to make as much as | could."

"Eventually, | ended up in a private club with sdangerous people. It was a near-death experience. That's

when | met Frey." Peyton's eyes softened as she spoke of Frey.

"Back then, Frey was the proud little princess of Saeville. | was like a piece of mud compared to her, but she

stood up forand saved me."

"It's almost laughable," Peyton said with a wistful smile, "Except for my grandmother, no one has shownsuch

kindness, except Frey."
