Chapter 13

Until Grace passed? Amara was momentarily stunned, unable to make sense of what she just heard.

Then it clicked. In slocal traditions here, people often said that after someone passed away, it took about

forty-nine days for them to fully move on.

That was roughly two months, which was probably why Kevin had suggested it. Amara glanced over at Finnian,

who was already looking her way. She quickly said, "I'm fine with whatever."

Seeing no objection from her, Finnian replied coolly, "Alright."

Kevin nodded. "Then, for now, you two should stay at here and keep her company."

Amara hesitated. She wanted to say that Grace wasn't particularly fond of her and might get upset if she stayed

there. But the lady had passed, and it seemed unnecessary to bring it up. Besides, she would soon be busy with

her film crew and wouldn't have much tat hanyway, so she nodded.

Finnian, on the other hand, was a workaholic, spending most of his day at the office. To him, hor a hotel was

all the same, so he too agreed.

Once outside, Lisa whispered her doubt, "Mr. Kevin Everly, are you really going to let them split up?"

A gleam flashed in Kevin's eyes. "Of course not."

It was his delaying tactics. Finnian had been away for three years, and it was natural that their relationship

lacked warmth. He was confident that spending a month together would reignite something between them.

"Mr. Finnian Everly, Mrs. Amara Everly, are you staying for dinner?" a servant asked respectfully as they left the

study. It was already past five.

Amara felt her stomach rumble. She was indeed a bit hungry. Just then, Finnian said, "I'd like schicken

soup."

His request was directed at Amara, who was momentarily taken aback. She nodded, saying, "Sure, I'll make it."

She wondered why Finnian suddenly wanted her chicken soup. Was it because it tasted good?

Quietly, she headed to the kitchen, gathering ingredients and spices, lighting the stove, and starting her

preparations. She reminded herself repeatedly that as long as they were married, it was her duty to do these

things for Finnian, and not for any other reason.

Finnian leaned against the kitchen doorframe, watching her busy silhouette, momentarily lost in thought.

Over the years, he would occasionally imagine what this woman was like.

Amara, his legal wife, could make dozens of delicious soups and various pastries. She was quite the cook. She

never intruded on his space, leaving meals with his secretary and sending him a quiet text before slipping away.

She seemed like a gentle person, maybe a bit timid. Will had mentioned she wasn't a stay-at-hwife but a

screenwriter.

Three years ago, Amara married him after graduating college. She continued writing scripts at home, producing

a couple of works and creating smemorable characters, indicating she was talented and understanding.

Although Finnian had never been hmuch, he had a vague idea of what kind of person his wife was, even if

her image was somewhat blurry in his mind.

Soon, the soup was ready. Amara carefully ladled it into a bowl, and a slender hand reached over. "Let me."

Amara paused, and then handed him the bowl. "Alright."

She had only served one bowl, planning to have hers later. Finnian was about to ask why she wasn't joining him

but hesitated when he noticed the mask on her face.

Amara left the kitchen, intending to rest upstairs, when her phone buzzed with a call from Cedric.

"Ama, we're starting production next week. I've found a new lead actress, Stella. What do you think?"

Stella? An actress with a few years in the industry, known for her good looks and solid acting skills. Amara

replied, "I think she's a good choice."

"Great," Cedric said. "We've also secured Keith West for the male lead."

Keith had burst onto the scene three years ago, charming audiences with his looks, impressive acting, and great

personality, becoming a top star. Getting him onboard was quite a feat, so Cedric wasn't really asking Amara's

opinion, just informing her.

But after he spoke, Amara was silent, prompting Cedric to ask curiously, "Ama, why so quiet? We got Keith!

Aren't you excited? Happy? Thrilled?"

"lI am, I'm really happy."

"Haha, | knew it! You're so thrilled you're speechless, right?"

"Keith just won Best Actor, and there's talk of him leaving TV for film. Having him in our project is a huge deal."

Cedric could be a chatterbox, and Amara listened for a while before hanging up. She wandered to the window,

lost in thought.
